Russian-Danish Business Forum took place on 28 April 2010 in Copenhagen

The state visit to Denmark by H.E. Dmitry A. Medvedev, President of the Russian Federation, took place on 28 April 2010. During the visit, negotiations were held with Prime Minister of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen. As a result of the meeting, the countries signed a Partnership for Modernization declaration.

The President of Russia also participated in the activities of the Russian-Danish Business Forum (RDBF) held in Copenhagen. The Russian party was represented at the Forum by Vladimir Lisin, Chairman of NLMK, and the Danish – by Jørgen Buhl Rasmussen, President & CEO of Carlsberg. The Forum brought together CEOs from major companies and business communities of the two countries, trade and business partners. The Program of the Forum covered a wide range of topics for bilateral discussion, including ways of overcoming the global financial crisis, cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, developing the real sectors of economy, increasing commodity turnover between the two states, expanding investment activities.  

All RDBF participants noted the positive evolution of Russian-Danish business relations, applauded the input of both countries into expanding cooperation, and expressed hope that the RDBF will promote the commercial and investment potential and strengthen business ties between the two states.

As a result of the meetings, the sides signed Joint Recommendations on a number of important issues, including cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, food security, investment and commercial activities. The document also stresses the importance of such events and announces the decision to organize subsequent RDBF meetings as part of bilateral Russian-Danish meetings at the top level.
