Novoship (Новошип)

Novoship (Novorossiysk Shipping Company) founded in 1967 today is a member of Sovcomflot Group. In Russia Novoship is the most efficient and competent fleet operator, on a par with the highest global standards. The company develops its business based on the combination of rich experience, Russian maritime traditions and best practices. Novoship’s cargo base is strong enough to guarantee stability, however the company is working to make it even more solid. In 2010, Novoship signed strategic agreements with Venezuela’s PDV Marina and PetroChina. This year the efforts will be targeted at Kazakhstan, Angola and Vietnam.

The shipbuilding portfolio is now being formed with regards to the needs of certain customers. Last year SCF Group entered the VLCC market segment. The construction of the tankers will be overseen and their subsequent technical management will be conducted by Novoship. At the moment the company owns and operates 51 modern vessels – large-tonnage tankers and product carriers - aggregating more than 4.5 million deadweight tons. In 2010, the fleet was expanded with the delivery of three Suezmax oil tankers, and four Panamax bulkers are now on order with the terms of delivery within two years. In future Novoship plans to further integrate in SCF Group as a conventional fleet operator.
